Animal Welfare Groups Criticize Pit Bull Proposal

The mauling of one of his young constituents by a pit bull terrier was all Paul Wesselhoft needed to propose restricting ownership of the dogs in Oklahoma.

But animal welfare groups said Wednesday Wesselhoft's plan to ultimately eliminate the dogs in the state won't make communities any safer from dangerous or vicious animals.
