Injured pit bull puppy left to die

A pit bull puppy dumped in front of a Colfax Street residence Wednesday night was so badly injured the county Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals opted for euthanasia, according to SPCA cruelty investigator Bev Greco.

"The dog was in horrendous condition," Greco said Thursday evening. "There was nothing we could do but put it down. ... He was so messed up. It was horrendous."
