San Francisco Pit Bull Adoption Standards

Screening Standards for Potential Adopters of Pit Bulls. Also known as "all Pit Bull restrictions" ...

The following criterias must be met in addition to passing our regular screening process:

- It is recommended that the applicant has knowledge of the Pit Bull breed and how to care for a Pit Bull.

- Applicant must agree to a property inspection. Polaroid pictures of a potential adopter's yard may be requested for out of the county residents.

- A receipt showing enrollment in dog training classes.

- Proof that a Pit Bull can reside in applicants home -- landlord approval or proof of home ownership.
