Catching Animal Fighting
They raise roosters and pitbulls, teach them to attack, then make millions from those who gamble on the bloody sport of animal fighting.
And Sioux Falls officials say they're seeing signs the fights may be happening in the city.
In 2003, Sioux Falls authorities uncovered a cockfighting ring and arrested three people for abusing roosters. Now, animal control investigators say the problem is pitbulls. They're looking into dogfighting throughout Sioux Falls. Animal control teamed up with police to learn from a national expert how to stop the illegal sport.
They're taught to attack and bred to kill. For animals forced into fighting, the battle only ends when a dog or rooster can no longer continue.
