Pit Bull News

Keeping track of the propoganda and news on bully breeds

"American Pitbull," by Marc Joseph

Mainstream media coverage of Pit Bull dogs and the people involved with them is commonly negative and oversimplified so as to focus on dog related violence on humans (including many breeds), and other criminal activity, sometimes drug and gang related. Public opinion in the United States and Europe has been uniformly shaped by this portrayal.
American Pitbull is a photographic exploration into the culture of American Pit Bull dogs and their people, presenting an alternative view of the controversial world revolving around a uniquely American breed of dog and the human beings that live for them.

Dog bites are not what everybody is REALLY worried about. Pit bulls kill, defend them now.

I am anxious to get a copy of this book. I like to see publications on real pitbulls and not what the media has the general public brainwashed to believe. It almost seams like some reporters are in competition with Stephen king and over sensationalize a story to get better ratings, only to find out later at times that the dog in the incident was not a pitbull at all; and sometimes retraction is never published to set the record strait. It’s true that any dog of all breeds can be trained to be mean; my brother was nearly killed by a Saint Bernard when he was a kid. Another brother was viciously bit by a German Shepard when he has a kid, and I was bit in the face by a cocker spaniel. And there are people out there breeding dogs of all breeds that don’t know what they are doing and have no business breeding dogs at all. They are destroying the very breed the supposedly love. A REAL WELL BRED pit bull which most people have never seen is one of the kindest, loving and human friendly dogs that there is. We have great pitbulls and I invite you to visit our site and see the pictures of how a real and well bred pitbulls interacts with children and people.

I have a pure ginger rednose American pitbull. He is the softest, most affectionate dog I have ever come across. I have never ever heard him growl. He only ever barks when you leave him alone or shouting at the vacuum cleaner (I guess that's a game). I usually walk him off the lead and I have no worries about him at all. He goes up to other dogs, but completely ignores their barking. Everyone in my local pub adores him. A drunk fell on him the other day and he made no attempt to snap.

You do have to watch out for the fact that his jaws are very strong and he sometimes hurts when he doesn't mean to. I'm teaching him to be more gentle and discouraging him from opening his mouth with others. If I leave him he gets a muzzle just because I can't be there.

I know other pitties and they're monsters, but judging by the scars and looking at the owners I can see why. Mine is my boy, he's treated with firm kindness. It's usually scared dogs which attack.

The Pit Bull is causing too much havoc in our world. They need to be regualted for our safety, and their own, of course. Look at my blog and I hope people that say they love Pit Bulls will realize it is true.

Ok I have a pit bull. I am proud of my puppy. Get your facts straight. Its the owner not the dog. Pit bulls are the most loving and caring dogs I've owned.
