Pit Bulls in the City
“Pit bulls are different; they’re like wild animals,” says Alan Beck, director for the Center for the Human Animal Bond at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, West Lafayette, IN. “They’re not suited for an urban environment. I believe we should open our eyes and take a realistic approach to pit bulls.”
Those who condemn pit bulls and call for breed bans targeting these dogs tend to be members of the general population, or most often, it seems, politicians. Beck isn’t calling for breed bans – he stops just short of that resulting from research yet to be published. Still, it’s exceedingly rare for an animal expert to vilify pit, and few would doubt Beck’s credentials.

As some one who as owned and trained wild animals wolves, baboons, to name a couple I can tell you first hand that are pitbulls don’t even come close to what a wild animal what is like. It is a shame to see a man like this alen beck, apparently a studied man, obviously stopped short on his study of the real pure bred pitbull. You can see how real, well bred pitbulls are with children and people at our site- pitbull puppies.
There is a lot of great information on this site. Many people could learn a lot from this site on how the well bred American pit bull terrier is so great.

i have a 14 month only pit living in my one bedroom NYC apartment with me and not only is she housebroken and completely free of any destructive urges, shes also the friendliest and quietest of all the dogs in our building (amongst small "city" breeds like boston terriers, chihuahuas and jack russels). people are so foolish - not only are pits great pets in general but i see them thriving in the city every day!
